Gaza, November 17, 2024 – At least 20 people, including four women and three children, were killed in Israeli air strikes across the Gaza Strip, according to Gaza’s civil defence. The strikes come amid ongoing conflict in the region.
The deadliest attack occurred in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, where 10 people lost their lives, civil defence spokesperson Mahmud Bassal stated. Another strike in the same camp targeted a house, killing one woman and injuring 10 others.
In the southern city of Rafah, five people were killed, and 11 were injured when an Israeli drone fired a missile earlier in the morning, Bassal added.
The Gaza health ministry has reported that over 43,846 people have been killed and 103,740 injured since Israel’s invasion of the territory began on October 7, 2023. The toll includes 47 fatalities recorded in the past 24 hours.
The escalating violence continues to devastate the region, with international calls for de-escalation growing amid the rising civilian toll.
