Tel Aviv, October 21,2024-The Netanyahu government has arrested seven Israeli citizens, including a military officer, on charges of providing critical and sensitive information about Israel’s military bases to Iran.
According to Israeli media, all seven arrested individuals are from Haifa, including one military officer and two minors. The suspects allegedly carried out numerous tasks for Iran, including collecting images and information on military bases and facilities, such as Tel Aviv’s Kirya Defense Headquarters, Nevatim and Ramat David Air Bases, and Iron Dome battery sites.
Based on the information provided by these individuals, Iran launched two missile attacks on Nevatim Military Base earlier this year, while Hezbollah targeted Ramat David.
The suspects are also accused of obtaining strategic maps from their handlers, including one of the Golani Base, which was destroyed in a deadly drone attack earlier this month.
During interrogation, the suspects admitted to working for Iranian intelligence agencies for two years and maintaining regular contact with Iranian agents. Investigators revealed that Iran paid the spies in cryptocurrency and millions of dollars for their operations.
Prosecutors stated that charges will be formally filed against the seven informants on Friday, along with a request to keep them in custody until the legal proceedings conclude.
