Lahore, March 11, 2025: Pakistan’s batting consultant Mohammad Yousuf has withdrawn from the upcoming white-ball tour of New Zealand due to his daughter’s illness, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed on Tuesday.
The former Pakistan captain informed the PCB about his decision, and while he will not be traveling with the team, the board has yet to name a replacement for the batting consultant role.
Despite Yousuf’s absence, the Pakistan national team is scheduled to depart for New Zealand on Wednesday morning for the tour, which includes five T20 Internationals (T20Is) and three One Day Internationals (ODIs) from March 16 to April 5.
The last T20I series between Pakistan and New Zealand was held in April 2024 when the Blackcaps toured Pakistan. The series opener in Rawalpindi was washed out due to rain, and the five-match series ended in a 2-2 draw, with both teams securing two victories each.
Pakistan will now look to build on their recent performances as they face New Zealand on their home turf.
