Islamabad, March 22, 2025: The nation will celebrate Pakistan Day tomorrow (March 23) with patriotic fervor, marking the 84th anniversary of the historic Lahore Resolution of 1940, which laid the foundation for the creation of Pakistan.

The traditional Pakistan Day Military Parade will take place in Islamabad, but on a limited scale due to the holy month of Ramadan. The decision to scale down the event reflects consideration for the fasting population while still maintaining the essence of the national celebration.

The parade will feature contingents from the Pakistan Army, Navy, and Air Force, showcasing their discipline and strength. The event is set to be held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, with President Asif Ali Zardari as the chief guest. Top civil and military leadership, diplomats, and dignitaries will also attend.

Pakistan Day commemorates the Lahore Resolution, passed on March 23, 1940, which paved the way for the establishment of an independent homeland for Muslims in South Asia. The day traditionally begins with a 31-gun salute in Islamabad and a 21-gun salute in provincial capitals, followed by special prayers for national prosperity and unity.

The celebrations will also include change-of-guard ceremonies at the mausoleums of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi and Allama Iqbal in Lahore, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to the ideals of its founding leaders.
