Islamabad, April 7, 2025: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rainfall in the northern and upper parts of the country, while warning of heatwave conditions in the south between April 8 and 11.

According to the PMD, a new system of western winds is expected to enter the upper regions on April 8, bringing intermittent rain to Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, and Mansehra during the forecast period.

Rainfall is also expected in Abbottabad, Battagram, Buner, Bajaur, and Gilgit-Baltistan, as well as parts of the Pothohar region including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, and Chakwal, and northeastern areas of Punjab.

The department further predicted dust storms in the plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh.

Meanwhile, central and southern parts of the country are likely to experience unusually hot and dry weather, prompting the PMD to advise citizens to take necessary precautions. Meteorologists urged people to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak daytime hours.

The department continues to monitor weather developments and has advised relevant authorities to remain alert to potential weather-related disruptions.
