Lahore, April 10, 2025: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is all set to celebrate its milestone 10th edition, beginning tomorrow, April 11, with a glittering opening ceremony followed by a high-voltage clash between defending champions Islamabad United and two-time winners Lahore Qalandars.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a lucrative prize pool for the tournament. The champions of PSL X will receive a cash prize of USD 500,000 along with the coveted Luminara Trophy. The runners-up will be awarded USD 200,000. According to the PCB’s official statement, the six competing franchises will be aiming for top honors in what is expected to be a fiercely contested season.

The tournament will feature 34 matches played across four venues from April 11 to May 18. Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will host 13 matches, including both Eliminators and the grand final on May 18. Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will stage 11 matches, including the first Qualifier scheduled for May 13. Karachi’s National Bank Stadium and Multan Cricket Stadium will each host five matches.

Three double-headers are part of the schedule, with two falling on Saturdays and one on Labour Day, May 1.

The tournament will feature a mix of experienced and new leadership. Babar Azam will continue to lead Peshawar Zalmi, while Shadab Khan captains Islamabad United. Mohammad Rizwan returns as the captain of Multan Sultans, and Shaheen Shah Afridi leads Lahore Qalandars once again.

Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators will see new leadership this season. Australian star David Warner will captain Karachi Kings, while Saud Shakeel will take the reins for Quetta Gladiators.

As PSL enters its tenth year, the league continues to grow in stature, attracting top international talent and showcasing Pakistan’s cricketing prowess. With packed stadiums expected and fierce rivalries renewed, PSL X promises a month of world-class cricket and unforgettable moments.
