Lahore, April 10, 2025: With the much-anticipated tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) set to begin tomorrow, team captains came together at a press conference filled with optimism, reflection, and forward-looking energy. The event marked not only the start of another season but a decade of progress, pride, and promise for Pakistan’s flagship cricket league.

Speaking at the press conference, Lahore Qalandars’ captain Shaheen Shah Afridi called PSL a league that belongs to all Pakistanis, urging fans and players alike to support it wholeheartedly. He spotlighted the league’s role in unearthing emerging stars like Haris Rauf, crediting the tournament’s platform for giving rise to dynamic, game-changing talent.

Peshawar Zalmi’s captain Babar Azam echoed the sentiment, emphasizing that every team now boasts a blend of experienced campaigners and rising stars. He underlined the value of learning from past mistakes, particularly in tactical decisions around batting and bowling combinations. “This year, the goal is clear — play the final and win it,” he stated.

Captains from other franchises, including Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings, also spoke about their strategies, noting the evolving nature of competition and the pressure of leadership. From adjusting game plans to managing team dynamics, the captains agreed that adaptability and consistency would be crucial in navigating the high-stakes season.

PSL CEO Salman Naseer called the league’s tenth edition a landmark occasion, expressing pride in its journey from humble beginnings to international recognition. “We’ve not only grown in scale but also in impact, creating opportunities for players and unforgettable memories for fans,” he said.

Among this year’s notable innovations is the introduction of Urdu commentary for the first time, a move aimed at enhancing inclusivity and fan engagement. Naseer also emphasized the use of advanced technology throughout the tournament and welcomed public feedback as a vital part of the league’s ongoing development.

As PSL X prepares to unfold across four cities, excitement is running high. The league’s tenth season promises more than just cricket—it’s a celebration of national talent, modern broadcasting, and the enduring spirit of the game. With the captains ready, the stage is set for a season that could define the next era of Pakistani cricket.
