Pakistan ready to fully cooperate in Pahalgam inquiry: Naqvi

Islamabad, April 26, 2025: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday categorically rejected allegations of Pakistani involvement in the recent Pahalgam incident in Indian-occupied Kashmir, reiterating Pakistan’s firm commitment to peace, transparency, and international cooperation.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Naqvi declared, “We are 200% clear that Pakistan has no connection to the Pahalgam incident.” He stressed that Pakistan demands an impartial and transparent international investigation and expressed the government’s readiness to fully cooperate to uncover the facts.

The minister accused India’s intelligence agency, RAW, of continuous interference in Pakistan’s internal affairs, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and alleged that India was “unable to digest” Pakistan’s economic progress.
“India is directly involved in terrorist incidents occurring in Pakistan,” Naqvi asserted, pointing out that the Pahalgam episode coincided with a foreign dignitary’s visit to Pakistan — the third such instance, according to him.

Highlighting recent security operations, Naqvi revealed that Pakistani authorities had seized seven improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and foiled seven terror plots over the past three days.
He warned that any Indian attempts at interference would be met with a strong and united national response. “If India tries anything, the entire nation will stand and fight back,” he said.

The interior minister also called for investigations into other incidents, including the Jafar Express attack, while emphasizing that Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, anywhere in the world.
Responding to media queries, Naqvi described BLA and RAW as “two sides of the same coin” and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty and integrity.

“Pakistan is a peaceful country; we will expose fabricated dramas like Pahalgam and present the truth to the world,” he concluded.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had also strongly rejected India’s “baseless and politically motivated” accusations following the Pahalgam attack.
Speaking at the passing-out ceremony of cadets at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul, the prime minister underscored that water is Pakistan’s lifeline and warned India against violating the Indus Waters Treaty.
“If our water is stopped, we will respond with full force. There will be no compromise,” Sharif said, assuring the nation that Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared to defend the country, with 250 million citizens standing firmly behind them.
