Islamabad, April 26, 2025: A high-level meeting between the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) and the CDA Officers Association concluded with a commitment to strengthen coordination and collaboration for transforming Islamabad into a vibrant, business-friendly city.

ICCI President Nasir Mansoor Qureshi warmly welcomed the delegation led by Nemat Ullah Masood, General Secretary of the CDA Officers Association. Emphasizing the importance of robust cooperation, Mr. Qureshi said that strong partnership between ICCI and CDA was crucial for the city’s sustainable development and prosperity. Representing over 15,000 members from the industrial, trade, and services sectors, ICCI reaffirmed its dedication to facilitating a favorable business environment.

“Islamabad belongs to all of us. As stakeholders, we must ensure that decisions impacting the business community are taken after due consultation with ICCI,” Mr. Qureshi stated.

Mr. Nemat Ullah Masood acknowledged the pivotal role of the business community in driving economic growth and assured the CDA Officers Association’s full support in facilitating commercial activities.

Founder Group Chairman of ICCI, Tariq Sadiq, highlighted key challenges in the industrial zones and called for their immediate resolution. CDA Director General Sardar Khan Zamri stressed the need for confidence-building measures to foster greater trust and institutional collaboration.

Former FPCCI and ICCI President Abdul Rauf Alam emphasized the importance of inclusive and consultative decision-making, urging for direct involvement of ICCI leadership and local market representatives in addressing civic issues effectively.

Reaffirming the CDA’s commitment to infrastructure development and service delivery, CDA Director General E&M, Waseem Sabir, pledged continued efforts to improve facilities.

Several business leaders, including Chaudhry Masood, Khalid Chaudhry, Naeem Awan, Asad Aziz, Shehzad Abbasi, Raja Zulfiqar, Mahmood Warraich, and Ishaq Siyal, voiced concerns over deteriorating road conditions, sanitation, street lighting, and sewerage systems. They expressed optimism that the dialogue would lead to timely solutions.

The session, moderated by former ICCI President Muhammad Ejaz Abbasi, underscored the importance of mutual understanding for effective problem-solving. ICCI Senior Vice President Abdul Rehman Siddiqui concluded the meeting with a vote of thanks and reaffirmed ICCI’s commitment to organizing more such engagements to enhance Islamabad’s development and business climate.

In recognition of their participation, ICCI President presented commemorative shields to Mr. Nemat Ullah Masood, Mr. Sardar Khan Zamri, and Mr. Waseem Sabir. The CDA Officers Association delegation included Chairman Riaz Khan, Finance Secretary Aftab Hussain, Deputy General Secretary Akram Raja, Office Secretary Bilal Khan, Admin Secretary Abdul Raheem Gazar, Deputy Information Secretary Asghar Imam, and President of State Directorate Imran Khokhar.

The meeting concluded with a lunch hosted by ICCI, after which Mr. Masood extended an invitation to ICCI’s leadership for a reciprocal visit to the CDA Officers Association.
