Lahore, September 17,2024- As the nation celebrated Eid Milad-un-Nabi on Tuesday, marking the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urged the nation to eliminate the growing trend of abusive language and hate speech.

Speaking at a Mehfil-e-Milad-un-Nabi in Lahore on Tuesday, the prime minister said, “Abusive language, hateful behaviors, injustice, and societal divisions are cause for reflection. We must eradicate these negative practices in the light of the Prophet’s (PBUH) teachings.”

PM Shehbaz called on the nation to work together to combat extremism and division, emphasizing that “our hands and tongues must refrain from engaging in anything that the Prophet (PBUH) forbade.”

“We all have a role to play in reforming a society marred by offensive language and actions,” he added.

The prime minister stressed that adherence to the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH) provides solutions to the country’s challenges. He described the Prophet’s (PBUH) life as a source of guidance not just for Muslims but for all humanity. “It is through the blessing of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) that people of all religions live peacefully in Pakistan,” he said.

PM Shehbaz also called for the creation of a welfare state based on Islamic principles, noting that such a system is essential for Pakistan’s progress. He highlighted the Prophet’s (PBUH) model of public welfare, which included care for the elderly and orphans, rooted in the highest standards of morality.

Citing the importance of unity as outlined in the Holy Quran, he warned that division plays into the hands of Pakistan’s enemies, urging collective efforts to counteract this.

The prime minister expressed strong support for the oppressed people of Kashmir and Palestine, acknowledging their sacrifices in the fight for justice. He voiced hope that both Palestine and Kashmir would soon achieve freedom.
