Lahore, May 1, 2025: Multan Sultans were eliminated from Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 after suffering a heavy defeat at the hands of Karachi Kings in the 20th match of the tournament at Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday.
Chasing a daunting 205-run target, Multan endured a disastrous start. Skipper Mohammad Rizwan fell for a second-ball duck, and Usman Khan followed soon after, leaving the team reeling at 3-2 within the first three overs.
The top order crumbled under pressure, with Yasir Khan’s 26 off 17 the only resistance early on. As wickets continued to tumble, Kamran Ghulam tried to steady the innings with a composed 28 but found no support from the other end. Multan slumped to 85-7 by the 12th over, and were eventually bowled out for 117, sealing their seventh loss in eight matches.
Mohammad Nabi and Curtis Campher claimed three and two wickets respectively, while Mir Hamza also struck twice, delivering a clinical performance for the Kings.
Earlier, Karachi Kings opted to bat and posted a commanding 204-4, powered by strong contributions from Tim Seifert, David Warner, and a vital 78-run fourth-wicket stand between Irfan Khan Niazi (40) and James Vince (65). Khushdil Shah provided a late blitz with 33 off 13, ensuring a formidable total.
With just one win from eight matches, Multan’s campaign ends in disappointment, while Karachi boosts its playoff hopes with a dominant performance.
