Quetta, May 6, 2025: Seven soldiers of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom and five others were injured in a terrorist attack by the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) in the Mach area of Balochistan’s Kachhi district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Tuesday.
According to the ISPR, the attack took place on May 6 when militants affiliated with the India-backed BLA targeted a military vehicle using an improvised explosive device (IED) near Machh. The explosion resulted in the martyrdom of Subedar Umar Farooq, Naik Asif Khan, Naik Mashkoor Ali, Sepoy Tariq Nawaz, Sepoy Wajid Ahmed Faiz, Sepoy Muhammad Asim and Sepoy Muhammad Kashif Khan.
Following the incident, security forces launched a clearance and search operation in the area to apprehend the perpetrators and dismantle the terrorist network involved.
Condemning the attack, the military reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating terrorism and ensuring peace in Balochistan. “The sacrifices of our brave soldiers only strengthen our resolve,” the ISPR stated. “The nefarious designs of India and its proxies will, Insha’Allah, be defeated by the courage and unity of Pakistan’s security forces, state institutions, and people.”
The attack comes at a time of heightened regional tensions, as Pakistani authorities continue to expose and counter foreign-sponsored terror activities aimed at destabilizing the province.
