Islamabad, May 15, 2025: A solemn ceremony was held at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Headquarters on Thursday to honor the martyrs of Operation Bunyan Marsous. Organized under the auspices of the CDA Workers Union, the event paid tribute to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives in defense of Pakistan.

Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, was the chief guest at the event, which was attended by members of the CDA Board, officers, the General Secretary of the CDA Workers Union, and a large number of CDA employees.

In his address, Chairman Randhawa praised the resilience and unity of the Pakistani nation during times of adversity. “Whenever Pakistan faces difficult times, the entire nation stands firm and united like an iron wall,” he said. “The world witnessed how the people of Pakistan stood shoulder-to-shoulder with their valiant armed forces, crushing the enemy’s malicious designs.”

He emphasized that the bravery and determination of the armed forces have made the nation proud on the global stage. “Our armed forces have demonstrated unmatched valor, earning us respect and honour among the nations of the world.”

Randhawa noted that while differences may exist among citizens, the entire nation comes together in defense of the homeland. He announced that Youm-e-Tashakkur (Day of Gratitude) would be observed across the country tomorrow to commemorate the victory. “Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Allah and the prayers of our citizens, Pakistan has once again emerged victorious against a far larger adversary,” he said.

Commending the efforts of all national institutions—particularly law enforcement agencies and the CDA—for fulfilling their duties with dedication, Randhawa said the nation bows in gratitude to Allah Almighty for the triumph.

Paying tribute to the martyrs, he remarked, “A martyr never dies. They live forever in our hearts. Those who returned victorious from the battlefield are Ghazis—heroes who have honored the debt of defending our sacred soil.”

Issuing a stern warning to any potential aggressor, Randhawa declared, “Anyone who dares cast an evil eye on Pakistan will have that eye plucked out with a strong hand.”

He added that Youm-e-Tashakkur would be marked in Islamabad with special events at F-9 Park and the Pakistan Monument, including flag-hoisting ceremonies and tributes to the martyrs. Randhawa stressed the importance of educating the younger generation about the sacrifices made for Pakistan’s creation and protection. “It is our collective duty to pass on the legacy of these sacrifices to future generations,” he said.

On the occasion of Jummah (Friday), he called on the nation to bow before Allah in thankfulness and dedicate their lives and resources to the service of Pakistan. “We stand as an iron wall with our armed forces and will never hesitate to make any sacrifice needed to defend our nation,” he affirmed.

Randhawa concluded by saluting the Pakistan Armed Forces for their decisive victory in Operation Bunyan Marsous, stating that the operation, which shattered the enemy’s arrogance, was a testament to Pakistan’s defensive superiority and national unity.

The ceremony ended with special prayers for the forgiveness and elevated status of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the motherland.
