Qila Abdullah, May 18, 2025: At least two people were martyred and 11 others injured in a powerful car bomb explosion near a Frontier Corps (FC) fort in the Gulistan area of Qila Abdullah district on Sunday. The blast occurred in a crowded market adjacent to the FC camp, triggering panic and chaos.

According to Deputy Commissioner Qila Abdullah, the bomb had been planted in a parked vehicle, which detonated near the market close to the FC fort. Soon after the explosion, intense firing erupted in the area, further alarming residents.

Riaz Khan Dawar, an official, confirmed that FC and other security personnel escaped unharmed in the explosion. The injured victims were civilians, who were swiftly shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

In the aftermath of the blast, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a comprehensive search operation. Intermittent gunfire continued for a short period, causing widespread fear among locals.

In a separate but related incident, unidentified assailants attacked the FC Qila Gulistan post using hand grenades. FC personnel responded with immediate and effective retaliation, killing two terrorists during the exchange.

According to an FC Balochistan spokesperson, the gunfight at the Qila Gulistan post was brief, and the situation has since been brought under control. Security forces have been placed on high alert across the area to prevent any further attacks.

The incident comes amid a notable surge in terrorist activity in Balochistan, with law enforcement agencies actively engaged in counter-terror operations. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack as of yet, and investigations are ongoing.
