Lahore, September 21, 2024 – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally in Lahore was abruptly cut short when the sound system and lights were turned off at the scheduled end time. The key speaker, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, was unable to address the gathering.

The rally, which was scheduled to run from 3 PM to 6 PM, started an hour and a half late. Despite the delayed start, participants, including leaders and workers, continued to arrive, with several leaders delivering speeches even as time ran out.

As PTI leaders were addressing the crowd, the administration took measures to block all entry points into Lahore at 6 PM, effectively preventing Ali Amin Gandapur from entering the city. Additionally, the Islamabad-Lahore Motorway was closed by the authorities, cutting off access for convoys from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Chief Minister Gandapur was reportedly en route to Lahore with a large group of supporters, accompanied by cranes to clear obstacles.
