DG ISI Lt Gen Asim Malik takes charge today

RAWALPINDI: Lieutenant General Mohammad Asim Malik will assume charge as the new director general of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) today. 

Lt Gen Asim Malik is recognised as one of the most capable and important operational commanders in the Pakistan Army, known for his timely actions that successfully meet challenging objectives. 

He has expertise in operational intelligence and various military matters. 

Previously, he commanded an infantry division in Balochistan and an infantry brigade in Waziristan. 

He has received the prestigious Sword of Honour in his course and has also served as the chief instructor at the National Defence University and as an instructor at the Command and Staff College in Quetta. 

Lt Gen Asim Malik graduated from Fort Leavenworth and the Royal College of Defence Studies. He has also served in the Military Operations Directorate.
