Islamabad, June 26, 2025: The federal cabinet on Thursday approved the Finance Bill 2025-26 with certain amendments during a meeting held at Parliament House. The session, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, also reviewed the country’s overall economic and political situation.

Finance Minister briefed cabinet members on the key features and proposed changes in the bill. Following a detailed discussion, the cabinet gave its formal approval.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the Finance Ministry’s efforts in preparing what he termed a balanced and forward-looking budget. He thanked the Finance Minister and his team for their hard work and acknowledged the active participation and support of government members during the budget session in the National Assembly.

The Prime Minister termed the smooth proceedings in the lower house a positive sign for the final passage of the budget.

With the cabinet’s approval, the Finance Bill now moves to the National Assembly for final passage ahead of the new fiscal year beginning July 1. The development comes amid continued efforts to stabilize the economy and promote sustainable financial management and economic growth.
