‘Time for negotiations is over’: PTI Chairman Gohar vows to follow only Imran Khan’s instructions

Islamabad, July 22, 2025: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan declared on Tuesday that the era of negotiations is over and the party will now act solely on the directives of incarcerated PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Speaking to the media outside the Judicial Complex, Barrister Gohar stated that the Senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were conducted smoothly and in accordance with PTI’s internal processes.
“All PTI candidates were finalized well in advance with the full consultation of the party founder,” he said, noting that the process was completed in March 2024 but delayed due to the reserved seats dispute.

“Once the issue of reserved seats was resolved, it became clear that PTI was not being allocated the number of seats it rightly deserved. Still, securing six seats is a positive outcome,” he added.

Responding to criticism that individuals who distanced themselves from the party after May 9 were granted tickets unfairly, Gohar clarified that no such favoritism occurred.
“Senator Mirza Afridi was nominated directly by Imran Khan himself. He never spoke against the party or deviated from its core principles,” Gohar stated.

He also stressed that political victimization must end now. “It’s been two years. It’s time for the government and all stakeholders to engage with PTI in a serious political dialogue,” he said.

Barrister Gohar reiterated that Imran Khan remains at the center of PTI’s political strategy.
“The movement will be led by Imran Khan from behind bars. We are not in the business of expelling anyone; those who disagree leave voluntarily,” he remarked.

He further lamented the lack of access to Khan, stating that court orders allowing meetings are being blatantly ignored.
“Barrister Saif met Khan last, followed by his sisters. But the way meetings are being restricted raises serious concerns,” he said.

Concluding his remarks, Gohar underscored that PTI will move forward strictly under Imran Khan’s guidance, and there will be no further negotiations with the current ruling coalition.
