Rawalpindi, July 24, 2025: An officer of the Pakistan Army and a sepoy were martyred during an intelligence-based operation in the Mastung district of Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

According to the military’s media wing, the operation was launched on Wednesday following reports about the presence of terrorists affiliated with the Indian proxy group, Fitna al-Hindustan.

During the operation, Pakistani troops engaged the terrorist hideout and successfully eliminated three militants. However, in the ensuing exchange of intense fire, Major Zeeyyad Salim Awal, 31, from Khushab, embraced martyrdom while leading his troops from the front.

The ISPR hailed Major Zeeyyad as a brave officer who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation. Alongside him, Sepoy Nazam Hussain, 22, a resident of Jhelum, also embraced martyrdom during the encounter.

Following the operation, a sanitisation effort is underway to clear the area of any remaining threats.

“The security forces of Pakistan remain resolute in their mission to eliminate the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country,” the ISPR stated. “The sacrifices of our brave sons of the soil only strengthen our determination and commitment to defend the homeland.”
