Islamabad, August 4, 2025: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Monday, reaffirming the two countries’ commitment to enhanced cooperation across multiple sectors.

According to a press release issued by the Foreign Office, the two leaders exchanged views on a wide range of bilateral, regional, and international issues, and agreed to maintain regular contact and collaboration on matters of mutual interest.

The phone call follows a recent in-person meeting between Dar and Rubio during the Pakistani minister’s official visit to Washington.

During the conversation, Secretary Rubio acknowledged Pakistan’s sacrifices in the global fight against terrorism and commended its continued contributions to regional and international peace efforts. He also lauded Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional stability.

Senator Dar expressed Pakistan’s strong desire to further strengthen and expand bilateral ties with the United States. He voiced optimism about the ongoing US-Pakistan trade dialogue, highlighting Pakistan’s potential as an attractive destination for American investors.

Dar also emphasized the shared strategic outlook of both countries on key regional peace initiatives and underscored the importance of leveraging their aligned interests to promote stability and development.

He further noted the vital role of the Pakistani diaspora in the United States, describing it as a “living bridge” that enhances people-to-people ties and mutual understanding between the two nations.

Both sides concluded the call by reaffirming their commitment to deepen cooperation across diverse sectors, including trade, investment, regional security, and people-to-people engagement.
