Islamabad, August 21, 2025: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has reclaimed 210 out of 370 kanals of illegally occupied estate land in Saidpur Model Village as part of its ongoing anti-encroachment operation, officials said on Thursday.

The operation, launched on the directions of CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, is aimed at eliminating illegal constructions and restoring the village’s original layout. The drive is being supervised by Deputy Director General Enforcement Dr. Anam.

During Thursday’s action, CDA teams demolished 11 illegally built houses and 12 shops using heavy machinery. Officials said the Enforcement Wing has been tasked with compiling complete data on remaining illegal structures that have not been vacated despite notices, in order to ensure full eradication of encroachments in the area.

The CDA administration reiterated that the operation would continue until all encroachments are removed, stressing that the campaign is crucial to preserving Islamabad’s planned development and enhancing its beauty.

Earlier this week, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Saidpur Model Village to review both the anti-encroachment operation and ongoing upgradation work. He directed indiscriminate action against illegal occupants and emphasized that the government intends to develop the historic site into a world-class recreational hub.

Naqvi announced that outlets of renowned national food chains would be set up in Saidpur to generate employment, boost tourism, and provide citizens with a modern leisure destination. “All resources will be utilized to develop Saidpur Village as a premier recreational center,” he said.

The CDA has appealed to citizens to cooperate with the campaign and to immediately report any illegal encroachments to the relevant authorities.
