Tianjin, August 31, 2025: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday reaffirmed their commitment to deepening Pakistan-Turkiye relations during a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of State summit in Tianjin, China.

Both leaders expressed satisfaction over the growing momentum in bilateral cooperation, noting progress in political, economic, defence and security sectors. They welcomed the increase in high-level exchanges between the two countries and pledged to expand collaboration further.

President Erdogan offered condolences over the loss of lives and widespread damage caused by the ongoing floods in Pakistan, assuring that Turkiye stood in full solidarity with the Pakistani people.

The two sides also exchanged views on major regional and global issues. Expressing grave concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, they reaffirmed their shared commitment to advocate for the legitimate rights of Palestinians and to oppose what they described as Israel’s continued aggression and genocidal policies.

The meeting underscored the historic and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Turkiye, with both leaders vowing to work together for peace, stability and prosperity in the Muslim world and beyond.
