Islamabad, October 14, 2024 – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly welcomed the first group of Palestinian medical students who arrived in Lahore to continue their medical education, according to a report.

“Pakistan is proud to welcome Palestinian medical students to complete their studies. Their presence strengthens the bonds of solidarity between our nations,” the Prime Minister shared in a post on X (formerly Twitter). He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Palestine and their right to education, healthcare, and a brighter future. Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed the arrival of the first batch of Palestinian students in Lahore. He noted that a total of 190 students would be arriving in Pakistan to pursue medical education. In July, the Government of Pakistan had announced its decision to accommodate medical students from Gaza on humanitarian grounds, allowing them to complete their studies in Pakistan.
