Multan, October 14, 2024 – As the Pakistan vs. England Test series heads into the second match on October 15 in Multan, both teams have made significant squad changes.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced a reshuffled squad, resting several key players, including captain Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Sarfaraz Ahmed. Shan Masood will continue to lead the team, with Saud Shakeel as vice-captain. New additions include uncapped players Haseebullah, Mehran Mumtaz, and Kamran Ghulam. Mohammad Ali, Noman Ali, Sajid Khan, and Zahid Mehmood have also been recalled for the second Test.
On the other hand, England has made two changes, with captain Ben Stokes returning after missing the first Test due to injury, and Matthew Potts also joining the squad. Chris Woakes and Gus Atkinson have been rested for this match. The second Test is crucial, with England leading the series 1-0 after their victory in the first Test.
