Islamabad, October 8, 2025: In a stunning political development, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has decided to remove Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur from his position and has nominated Sohail Afridi as his replacement, according to senior party sources.
PTI’s focal person Rai Salman confirmed the move, stating that Imran Khan issued the directives to party leaders during the hearing of the Toshakhana case at Adiala Jail. “The PTI founder has instructed the party to initiate the process of replacing Gandapur and to move forward with Sohail Afridi as the new chief minister,” Rai Salman said.
The decision, insiders say, reflects Imran Khan’s growing frustration with Gandapur’s handling of provincial affairs and his confrontational stance toward the federal government.
