Lahore, October 8, 2025: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday appointed Imran Farhat as the batting coach of the national team for the upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa, starting October 12 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Former spinner Abdur Rehman has been named spin bowling coach, while Azhar Mehmood will serve as the head coach for the red-ball format.
The series will mark the start of the World Test Championship (WTC) cycle for both sides, with South Africa beginning their title defence. The first Test will be played in Lahore from October 12 to 16, followed by the second Test at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from October 20 to 24.
According to PCB officials, the first batch of the South African squad has already arrived in Pakistan in the early hours of Wednesday, while the remaining players and support staff are expected to arrive shortly.
