Johor Bahru, October 14, 2025: In a pulsating encounter at the Taman Daya Hockey Stadium, Sufyan Khan scored twice — including a crucial 54th-minute equaliser — as Pakistan held India to a 3–3 draw in their Sultan of Johor Cup group match on Tuesday.

Pakistan made a blistering start, taking the lead just five minutes into the game when captain Hannan Shahid converted a penalty stroke. The Green Shirts dominated possession in the opening quarter and nearly doubled their advantage, but Sufyan’s penalty corner narrowly missed the target.

The score remained 1–0 at halftime, with both sides creating but failing to capitalise on scoring opportunities. Pakistan extended their lead in the 39th minute as Sufyan successfully converted another penalty corner to make it 2–0.

However, India launched a stunning comeback, netting three goals in just eight minutes through Araijeet Singh Hundal, Sourabh Anand, and Manmeet Singh, turning the game on its head and taking a 3–2 lead with nine minutes left.

Pakistan refused to back down. In the 54th minute, Sufyan displayed remarkable composure, dodging the Indian goalkeeper to score the equaliser and secure a well-deserved draw.

The closing minutes witnessed end-to-end action as both sides pushed for a winner, but the scoreline remained level at 3–3 when the final whistle blew — leaving the arch-rivals to share the points in a thrilling contest.
