Gaza, October 17,2024- Palestinian resistance organization Hamas has confirmed the martyrdom of its political leader, Yahya Sinwar. The son of Ismail Haniyeh confirmed Yahya Sinwar’s martyrdom.
Earlier, the Israeli army claimed to have martyred the new Hamas leader, Yahya Sinwar.
The Israeli army stated that a DNA test has been initiated on a Palestinian body found after an attack in the Jabalia camp in Gaza, suspecting it to be Yahya Sinwar’s body, found during a school attack.
Israeli sources reported that Yahya Sinwar’s martyrdom occurred in the Rafah area of southern Gaza during a bombing. The Israeli army conducted a DNA test on the suspected body, which came out positive, and sent the sample to a European country for complete confirmation.
According to Arab media, the Israeli army conducted an airstrike on a refugee school in the Jabalia camp. The Israeli army claimed that the attack targeted a meeting of Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
Hamas denied using the Jabalia refugee school for any military purposes.
The Israeli army said there was no information regarding the presence of hostages in the targeted building.
It is worth noting that on July 31, 2024, Yahya Sinwar was elected as the new leader of Hamas after the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh in an attack in Iran.
