Pakistan writes letter to U.S. President for Dr. Aafia Siddiqui's pardon

Islamabad, October 18,2024- Government of Pakistan has written a letter to the U.S. President requesting a pardon for Dr. Afia Siddiqui.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has sent a letter to the U.S. President asking for a pardon for Aafia Siddiqui’s sentence. Additional Attorney General Munawar Iqbal Dogal informed the Islamabad High Court about this significant development. Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan of the Islamabad High Court heard the petition regarding Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s release and return. Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s sister, Fauzia Siddiqui, had filed the petition in the Islamabad High Court. Advocate Imran Shafiq appeared in court on behalf of Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui.
