Lahore, October 25, 2025: The Pakistan men’s cricket team will wear specially designed pink-themed kits in the opening T20 International of the three-match series against South Africa, scheduled to be played in Rawalpindi on October 28, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Saturday.

The initiative, part of the global “#PINKtober” campaign, aims to raise awareness about breast cancer during the designated awareness month.

According to the PCB, the home side will don pink jerseys for the match, while South African players and match officials will wear pink ribbons to express solidarity with the cause. Players, officials, support staff, and commentators will also wear ribbons during the fixture.

“The Pakistan Cricket Board takes immense pride in using the power and reach of cricket to create awareness about causes that affect our society,” PCB Chief Executive Sumair Ahmed Syed said in a statement.

“Through the Pink Ribbon campaign, we aim to highlight the importance of early detection and regular screening for breast cancer, which can save countless lives. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility.”

The PCB chief expressed gratitude to both teams, match officials, broadcasters, and fans for supporting the campaign, adding that such collaborations help spread awareness and inspire meaningful action across communities.

In addition to the players’ kits, the stumps will be branded pink, and digital screens at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will display awareness messages related to breast cancer prevention and early detection.

It marks the first time the PCB has introduced a Pink Day initiative in an international match, though the theme has previously featured in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to support breast cancer awareness.
