Karachi, November 5, 2025: Renowned Pakistani actress Saba Qamar has issued a Rs100 million legal notice to journalist Naeem Hanif over what she described as false and defamatory remarks made during a podcast.

The controversy erupted after Hanif alleged that Qamar had once lived in a house in Lahore’s Walton area, reportedly provided by an unnamed individual.

Qamar swiftly rejected the claims, sharing a screenshot of the podcast on her Instagram account and denouncing the statement as “baseless and untrue.” She clarified that she had never lived in Walton, terming the allegation a serious attack on her character and reputation.

Her legal representatives have formally sent a notice to both the journalist and the YouTube channel that hosted the interview, demanding a public apology and removal of the defamatory content within seven days. The notice warns that failure to comply will result in court action.

Qamar also urged the entertainment fraternity and her followers to stand against false accusations and promote accountability in media reporting.
