Islamabad, December 2, 2025: The business community of the federal capital has announced plans to stage a peaceful protest in front of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Thursday, December 11, at 2:00 pm, citing concerns over measures by the authority that they say are severely affecting economic activity in the region.
The announcement was made by Sardar Tahir Mehmood, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI), during a joint press conference held at Munawar Mughal Hall on Tuesday.
The conference was attended by a large gathering of industrialists, traders, market presidents, and business leaders, including the President of All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajran, who collectively expressed strong condemnation of what they described as high-handed measures by CDA officials under the directives of Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa.
Sardar Tahir Mehmood stressed that the protest would be peaceful and aimed at drawing attention to policies that are harming the city’s economic activity, urging the CDA to engage with the business community to resolve the ongoing issues.
