Islamabad, December 5, 2025: A meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Parliamentary Party on Friday concluded without any breakthrough, as lawmakers sharply criticised senior party figure Salman Akram Raja and questioned the leadership’s recent decisions regarding him, party sources told reporters.

According to insiders, members expressed no confidence in Raja during the in-camera huddle and conveyed their reservations directly to Barrister Gohar Khan, who chaired the meeting.

Lawmakers reportedly urged Gohar to inform the party’s founding chairman that the decision concerning Raja’s role in the party “was not appropriate.” They also complained that Raja’s conduct in the last two meetings had created serious friction within the parliamentary ranks.

Several members went a step further, declaring that they would not retweet or promote any social media posts issued by the founding chairman until the decision regarding Salman Akram Raja was reconsidered, sources said.

Barrister Gohar, however, counselled restraint, advising the disgruntled lawmakers to remain patient and deal with the matter calmly. The meeting ultimately ended without any conclusive decision, leaving the internal rift unresolved. Party officials declined to comment on the record regarding the internal discussions.
