Lahore, December 16, 2025: The 81st Board of Governors (BoG) meeting of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was held on Tuesday, focusing on cricketing developments, infrastructure upgrades, and upcoming domestic and international fixtures.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, presiding via video link, announced the second phase of upgradation for Karachi’s National Bank Stadium and approved plans to construct the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) Stadium modeled after the iconic Oval Stadium. Emphasizing the board’s commitment to modernizing venues, Naqvi revealed that efforts are underway to host Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 matches at the Muzaffarabad Stadium, alongside international fixtures.

Naqvi also pledged the development of a state-of-the-art cricket stadium in Islamabad, underlining the PCB’s focus on expanding world-class cricket infrastructure across the country.

During the meeting, BoG members passed a resolution acknowledging Naqvi’s role in ensuring the continuation of the Sri Lanka men’s cricket team white-ball tour in Pakistan last November, and lauded the successful PSL roadshows in London and New York. Naqvi, however, emphasized that the achievements were the result of a collective team effort, stating, “The credit for continuing the Sri Lankan tour goes not to me but to the entire team. We worked hard with sincerity, and Allah Almighty helped us.”

CEO PSL Salman Naseer briefed the BoG on the outcomes of the PSL roadshows, while updates on future ICC men’s and women’s cricket tournaments were also presented.

The meeting highlighted PCB’s strategic focus on infrastructure, international engagements, and strengthening the PSL brand, reinforcing Pakistan’s growing presence in the global cricketing arena.
