FBR holds tax awareness session at FPCCI Islamabad to promote voluntary compliance

Islamabad, December 29, 2025: On the instructions of Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Mr. Rashid Mahmood Langrial, the Taxpayers’ Services (TPS) Wing on Monday conducted a Tax Awareness Session at the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Islamabad, as part of its ongoing Tax Awareness Outreach initiative aimed at promoting tax education and voluntary compliance among the business community.

The session was held under the supervision of Member TPS Wing Ms. Tehmima Aamir and was led by Secretary Tax Education and Facilitation, Mr. Muhammad Muti-ur-Rehman Mumtaz. He was accompanied by Mr. Abdul Rehman Sheikh, Second Secretary Tax Facilitation, along with other officials of the Taxpayers’ Services Wing. FPCCI was represented by Vice President Mr. Tariq Jadoon, Chairman/Incharge FPCCI Capital Office Mr. Karim Aziz Malik, and other executive members. Members of the business community from various cities also joined the session through video link.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Muhammad Muti-ur-Rehman Mumtaz provided a comprehensive overview of FBR’s mandate, functions, and ongoing reform measures. This was followed by a detailed presentation by Mr. Abdul Rehman Sheikh focusing on tax awareness and step-by-step procedures for online filing of income tax returns.

The session witnessed active participation from attendees, who raised a wide range of tax-related queries. These were addressed in detail by the FBR team, facilitating greater clarity and understanding among participants.

Business representatives appreciated FBR’s efforts to enhance outreach, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and promote a culture of voluntary tax compliance.

The event concluded with the exchange of souvenirs between FBR and FPCCI representatives, reaffirming their mutual commitment to continued collaboration for improved tax awareness and facilitation across the business community.
