Rawalpindi, January 13, 2026: Sisters of incarcerated PTI founder Imran Khan, along with party workers, staged a sit-in at Factory Naka near Adiala Jail on Tuesday after being barred from meeting the former prime minister once again.

Sit-ins at Factory Naka, a short distance from the jail, have become a regular occurrence on Tuesdays and Thursdays, as Imran’s family and PTI supporters continue to face restrictions despite a March 24, 2025 Islamabad High Court (IHC) order permitting visits twice a week. Attempts by Imran’s sisters — Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, and Noreen Khan Niazi — as well as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, to meet him were unsuccessful.

On Tuesday, routes to Adiala Jail, including Factory Naka and Dahgal Naka, were heavily cordoned off by police. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan was stopped at Dahgal Naka, while several others, including Imran’s sisters, were blocked at Factory Naka.

PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja shared on social media platform X that he was stopped at a checkpoint near Bahria Town and later again at Chakri, finally reaching near Adiala Jail hours later.

During the sit-in, participants shouted slogans in support of Imran Khan, while the route to the jail remained completely blocked.

Earlier, Aleema Khan told the media, “We will do whatever needs to be done” for her brother’s release. She also praised KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi as “the future of Pakistan” and stated that “the youth in Pakistan have buried the old politics,” calling the current movement “new politics.”

Regarding messages allegedly from Imran Khan, Aleema stated that “whatever messages he sends” were posted on X. While Imran has no internet access in jail, posts on the platform have been circulated as messages from him following his meetings with family and associates.
