Australian HC pays courtesy call on Malaysian Envoy in Islamabad

Islamabad, January 21, 2026: The newly appointed High Commissioner of Australia to Pakistan, Mr. Timothy Kane, paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, at the Malaysian High Commission in Islamabad.

During the meeting, the two envoys exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, including regional developments, diplomatic engagement in Pakistan, and opportunities to enhance cooperation. The discussion highlighted the importance of sustained dialogue and collaboration among diplomatic missions based in the federal capital.

Ambassador Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan warmly welcomed Mr. Kane to Pakistan and extended best wishes for a successful tenure. He expressed confidence that bilateral engagement between Malaysia and Australia would continue to grow through constructive diplomacy, as well as cooperation in regional and multilateral forums.

The courtesy call concluded in a cordial atmosphere, reaffirming the shared commitment of both countries to strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation during their respective postings in Pakistan.
