Islamabad, February 1, 2026: Director-General of UNESCO, Dr. Khaled El-Enany, arrived in Islamabad on an official visit to Pakistan. During his visit, Dr. El-Enany will call on the Prime Minister of Pakistan and hold meetings with senior government officials to discuss strategic cooperation between Pakistan and UNESCO across all areas of the organization’s mandate.
This marks Dr. El-Enany’s first bilateral visit to any country since his election as the new Director-General of UNESCO in November 2025, underscoring the importance of Pakistan’s engagement with the UN body.
