Pakistan Envoy meets Dutch senator to strengthen parliamentary ties and women empowerment

The Hague, February 12,2026: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Netherlands, Syed Haider Shah, met with Senator Ms. Shirin Musa of the People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) at the Embassy to discuss enhancing parliamentary cooperation and promoting women’s empowerment.

Welcoming Senator Musa and her delegation, Ambassador Shah highlighted the importance of high-level parliamentary exchanges between Pakistan and the Netherlands to deepen bilateral relations. He briefed the visiting senator on developments in human rights in Pakistan and emphasized the significant role women parliamentarians are playing in advancing gender equality and empowerment.

The Ambassador also invited Senator Musa to attend the inaugural Pakistani Women Forum, scheduled to be held at Pakistan House in the coming months. He commended her efforts in advocating for the rights of women with immigrant backgrounds in the Netherlands.

Recalling her previous visits to Pakistan, Senator Musa expressed appreciation for the positive strides made in women’s development and empowerment across the country. She noted that she, along with fellow Dutch parliamentarians, is keen to visit Islamabad to further promote parliamentary dialogue and strengthen cooperation between the two nations.
