Islamabad, February 12, 2026: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari met on Thursday at Aiwan-i-Sadr to review Pakistan’s political, economic, and security landscapes, as well as the prevailing regional and global environment.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, and other senior officials. Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, and federal ministers including Syed Mushtaq Raza Naqvi, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Khalid Hussain Magsi, and Abdul Aleem Khan were also present.

According to a press release from the President’s Secretariat, both leaders discussed national security, economic challenges, and ongoing efforts to strengthen governance. They reaffirmed their commitment to taking decisive actions against foreign-backed terrorists and their facilitators, vowing to continue efforts until terrorism is fully eliminated.

The meeting follows a previous engagement in November 2025, where the premier and president reviewed the country’s security situation in light of multiple terrorist attacks. Thursday’s discussions underscored the leadership’s focus on stability, regional cooperation, and advancing Pakistan’s strategic and economic interests.
