Doha, February 24, 2026: Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al Thani, Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, on Tuesday called on Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif during the Pakistani premier’s official visit to Doha, with both sides reaffirming their strong and historic bilateral ties.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed cooperation in defence and security and expressed satisfaction over the close collaboration between the armed forces of Pakistan and Qatar. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif underscored Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening defence cooperation and expanding collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
The discussions also covered regional developments, particularly the evolving situations in Iran and Afghanistan. Both sides emphasized the importance of dialogue, de-escalation, and collective efforts to promote peace and stability across the region.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi were also present at the meeting.
