Islamabad, February 27, 2026: Chairman Senate of Pakistan Yousaf Raza Gilani has paid glowing tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces and security agencies for what he termed their timely and effective response to aggression carried out by Afghanistan in border areas.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Chairman Senate emphasized that no compromise could be made on Pakistan’s security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He asserted that any force or elements attempting to challenge the country’s borders and national security would face a strong, befitting, and decisive response.

Referring to the reported aggression by the Afghan Taliban regime in border regions, Gilani said the Armed Forces responded with exceptional professionalism, courage, and a well-calculated strategy. He described the response as commendable and a matter of national pride.

Appreciating the bravery, vigilance, and unwavering commitment of security personnel in defending the homeland, he said the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its defenders.

The Chairman Senate further stated that Pakistan’s Armed Forces possess the full capability to defend every inch of the country and would not allow anyone to cast an evil eye on its territory. He underscored that the people of Pakistan, along with the armed forces and security institutions, are fully prepared to thwart and defeat any hostile designs.

He concluded by affirming that the nation remains united on matters of national security and that Pakistan’s defense is in safe and invincible hands, with every possible measure being taken to safeguard the country’s stability and sovereignty.
