Islamabad, February 28, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday received a telephone call from the Foreign Minister of Iran, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, during which the two leaders reviewed the evolving situation in Iran and the wider region.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussion focused on recent regional developments and their broader implications for peace and stability.

During the conversation, the Deputy Prime Minister strongly condemned the unwarranted attacks against Iran and emphasized the need for an immediate halt to further escalation. He stressed that the prevailing crisis could only be resolved through the urgent resumption of diplomacy and sustained dialogue aimed at achieving a peaceful, negotiated settlement.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s consistent position, Ishaq Dar underscored the importance of restraint, respect for international law, and collective efforts to prevent the situation from deteriorating further, warning that continued escalation could have serious consequences for regional and global stability.

Both sides agreed on the importance of maintaining close contact and supporting diplomatic initiatives to ease tensions and promote peace in the region.
