Islamabad, February 28, 2026: Pakistan expressed deep regret over the breakdown of talks and the outbreak of hostilities in the Middle East. In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the unwarranted attacks against the Islamic Republic of Iran, noting that these actions came at a time when diplomatic efforts were underway to achieve a peaceful resolution. Officials warned that such attacks could destabilize the entire region with far-reaching consequences.
The statement also strongly condemned retaliatory attacks by Iran against Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE, emphasizing Pakistan’s solidarity with all these brotherly countries. It highlighted the need for maximum restraint, stressing that these unprovoked attacks violate the sovereignty of Gulf states. The ministry also expressed sorrow over the death of a Pakistani national in the UAE during the attacks.
Pakistan called on all parties to refrain from actions that could compromise regional security or territorial integrity and urged adherence to international law and the principles of the UN Charter. The statement underscored the importance of resuming diplomatic engagement to achieve a negotiated and peaceful solution to the crisis.
