Lahore: The Defense C police station in Lahore has registered a case against the husband of former actress Nargis over alleged torture and threatening to murder.
The case was registered on the complaint of actress Ghazala alias Nargis, who alleged that she was subjected to violence by her husband, Inspector Majid Bashir, over a financial dispute.
The Defense C police station registered a case against Bashir under charges of torture, alleged attempted robbery, and threatening to murder at gunpoint. According to the first information report (FIR), Bashir allegedly attempted to forcibly take cash and jewellery from Nargis at gunpoint and get a farm house transferred in his name.
The incident reportedly took place at the couple’s Defence residence in Lahore where the actress alleged the policeman husband hit her repeatedly with the official pistol, dragged her by hair and threatened to kill her.
In the FIR, Nargis alleged that Majid Bashir wants to forcibly transfer the property in his name, for which he commits violence on her. The police say legal action is being taken against Bashir.
Earlier, the police had confirmed the incident that they claimed took place over a financial dispute. They further claimed that Nargis went to the police station on Thursday night, but did not file any application yet.
Nargis had retired from the entertainment industry and was running a beauty salon.
Nargis’s brother has also voiced concerns, stating that Bashir subjected his sister to physical abuse every day. However, the police noted that no official complaint has been filed by the family.
Actress Nargis married Inspector Majid Bashir a few years ago, and was running a beauty salon after bidding goodbye to the world of showbiz.
