Islamabad, March 13,2026: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Islamabad Zone has arrested a suspect allegedly involved in visa fraud and illegal emigration after he reportedly extorted millions of rupees from a citizen on the promise of arranging a work visa for New Zealand.

According to officials, the case was registered as FIR No. 10/2026 dated February 9, 2026, under Sections 18 and 22 of the Emigration Ordinance, 1979, read with Section 489-F of the Pakistan Penal Code, at the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) Rawalpindi.

The arrested suspect has been identified as Attiq Ahmad, son of Iqbal Ahmad. Authorities traced and apprehended the accused on March 12.

FIA officials said the suspect allegedly extorted Rs6.8 million from the complainant on the pretext of arranging a New Zealand work visa for the complainant’s son, Jibral Ahmad. However, the accused neither secured the promised visa nor returned the money.

After completing the required legal formalities, the FIA arrested the suspect and will produce him before the court to seek physical remand for further investigation.

Officials said further investigation into the matter is underway.
