Islamabad, March 27, 2026: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on Friday to discuss the evolving situation in West Asia, reaffirming their shared commitment to peace and regional stability.
During the conversation, both leaders underscored the urgent need to restore calm in the Middle East and the wider region amid escalating tensions. They agreed to support all diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving an immediate cessation of hostilities and the resumption of peace talks.
The two sides also emphasized the importance of protecting civilians, ensuring the security of vital shipping lanes, and upholding principles enshrined in the United Nations Charter.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi conveyed China’s appreciation for Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and promote dialogue in the region.
Both leaders reiterated their commitment to resolving disputes through peaceful means, stressing the centrality of dialogue and diplomacy in addressing regional and global challenges.
