Islamabad, April 6, 2026: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Monday highlighted the critical importance of investing in resilient and inclusive healthcare systems to safeguard the well-being of all citizens, marking the occasion of World Health Day.
In his message, he described public health as a cornerstone of national development and social stability, emphasizing that access to affordable and quality healthcare is essential for empowering communities and promoting sustainable economic growth.
The Chairman Senate called for enhanced coordination among federal and provincial stakeholders, increased resource allocation, and the adoption of innovative approaches to improve healthcare service delivery, particularly in underserved and rural areas. He also stressed the importance of preventive healthcare, encouraging citizens to adopt healthier lifestyles and prioritize early diagnosis, alongside strengthening public awareness campaigns to address both communicable and non-communicable diseases.
Reaffirming the Senate’s commitment, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani stated that legislative and policy support will continue to be extended to initiatives aimed at improving the healthcare system. He urged all segments of society to work together in building a healthier and more resilient Pakistan.
