Dar urges US-Iran dialogue, ceasefire extension in meeting with US diplomat

Islamabad, April 21, 2026: U.S. Chargé d’Affaires, Natalie A. Baker called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday to discuss recent regional developments.

During the meeting, Dar reiterated Pakistan’s consistent stance that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path to addressing regional challenges and ensuring lasting peace and stability.

He emphasized the importance of engagement between the United States and Iran, urging both sides to consider extending the ceasefire and to pursue diplomatic channels.

Chargé d’Affaires Baker, in turn, appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and facilitating dialogue, acknowledging its efforts to ease tensions in the region.
