Pak envoy meets Scan group chairman, highlights Karachi’s transshipment potential

Copenhagen, April 27, 2026: Pakistan’s Ambassador to Denmark, Shoaib Sarwar, met with Morten Jaepelt, Chairman of Scan Group, to discuss Pakistan’s emerging role as a regional transshipment hub.

During the meeting, both sides explored opportunities to enhance maritime cooperation and leverage Pakistan’s strategic geographic position along key global shipping routes.

The Scan Group chairman acknowledged the strong potential of Karachi as a transshipment hub, noting a recent surge in activity at its ports. He highlighted that Pakistan’s location offers a competitive advantage for facilitating regional and international trade flows.

The discussion underscored growing international interest in Pakistan’s logistics and maritime sector, with a focus on expanding connectivity and investment in port infrastructure.
